Writing prompt: The truth behind the lips

Not every kiss is about love. Some are about revelation. On World Kissing Day, we celebrate the most universal gesture of connection, but what if a kiss could expose what we hide?
Imagine a world where a kiss doesn’t soften, but reveals. Where lips press together and secrets surface like ink in water.
Kissing is art’s favourite shorthand for romance, yet it’s also a mirror. Klimt’s gold and Rodin’s marble both freeze a moment of surrender that might just as easily be confession.
With this idea in mind, I thought I’d share this prompt for my fellow writers:
Write about a kiss that transfers not love, but truth.
Does it heal or destroy?
Is truth the final intimacy or the end of it?
Because sometimes, the most dangerous thing we can share isn’t our hearts, it’s what’s really inside them.
Happy writing, kissers!
