Dear grown-ups,
You're invited to join the World Book Day celebrations by reconnecting with your inner child and reading to the little ones in your life. To mark this special day, I'm offering a 20% discount on both of my books!
Turning children into readers
World Book Day is a fabulous initiative that aims to turn children of all ages into lifelong readers. As you know, this is something I am particularly passionate about, especially when it comes to helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Today, I'm asking you—and all other grown-ups—to grab a book from your local library, store or shelf, and spend some time reading to the children in your life.
Remember, picture books are made to be performed, so here are some tips for reading aloud to your little ones. You can find other reading activities at www.worldbookday.com.
Reconnect with your inner child
No child? No problemo! Read a children's book anyway! It's one of my favourite things to do, with or without my daughter. Being "old" doesn’t mean we can’t have fun exploring the imaginations of writers and illustrators from all over the world.
Psssst - I want to tell you a secret!
I should mention that the illustration in this post is a special one because it's a sneak peek at the lead character from my upcoming picture book. I can't wait to reveal more about him—and my other quirky, oddball creations—in the coming weeks.
A gift for you
In celebration of World Book Day, and to say thanks for reading, you can enjoy a 20% discount on my books at www.victoriahallauthor.com. Simply apply the promo code WBD16 at checkout. Offer expires Thursday, 10 March.
