Victoria Hall debuts with Penny Prickles at Coogee Beach

In her charming new picture book, Penny Prickles at Coogee Beach, Victoria Hall uses a delightful hedgehog character to convey early messages about beach safety and sustainability.

Penny Prickles at Coogee Beach tells the story of Penny and her mother’s trip to the seaside. Along the way, readers join Penny in exploring the sights, sounds, smells and sensations of the beach—and watch this adorable little character’s day unfold in bright and lively rhyme.

Inspired by Sydney’s beautiful Eastern beaches, this is a playful story for blossoming young minds.

Hall says, “After I had my daughter, I searched high and low for a children’s book with local flavour. When I couldn’t find one, I decided to create one myself. I wanted to write a story that celebrated the beautiful part of the world that my family—and so many others—are fortunate enough to call home.”

Victoria also produced the artwork for Penny Prickles at Coogee Beach. Readers are sure to enjoy her cute and colourful collage-style illustrations.

Penny Prickles at Coogee Beach is now available from Victoria’s website, Amazon and as an eBook on iTunes.

Victoria Hall was born and raised in England. She currently lives in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs with her husband and young daughter. Penny Prickles at Coogee Beach is her first picture book for children. She is currently working on her second book, “Eggy Peggy.”
